South African police arrest dozens as riots erupt around Johannesburg

September 02, 2019 - Johannesburg, South Africa, Africa - South African police arrested more than a dozen people for public violence and one person for attempted murder today after rioters looted shops, burned tires and barricaded traffic points in different parts of economic centre Johannesburg. Last week hundreds of protesters in administrative capital Pretoria set fire to buildings, looted mostly foreign-owned and clashed with police, who fired rubber bullets at the crowds.
