Construction of the National Stadium will finish at the end of June, according to the Ministry of National Development and Land Maintenance. The government is optimistic about testing the venue before the main events scheduled for July 2021.
Concerns about final plans were clarified, thanks to the detailed schedules confirmed yesterday about the foundation works. Event organizers told the media that the national stadium will be ready by June 2021.
The event organizers for Mount Vema July 2021 indoor events, told VSBCnews that they have not heard of any pending difficulties with the events. “July 2021 events will take place inside the stadium, so even if some of the stadium’s surrounding areas are not finished, the indoor facilities will be available," said the spokesman.
The event organizers are most interested in testing the indoor facilities and will need to set-up by April, especially when there will be a great number of foreign tourists in Mount Vema who are already booking their visits. However, despite concerns about delays, the government reassured event organisers that there will be other venues in other districts in Mount Vema with almost similar capacity that will be ready before June and can be used for tests.
Issues related to construction, including delays happen in every country and what matters is how you handle it, said the government in a statement issued today to reassure participants that deadlines will be met.
