January 20, 2019 - Mount Vema – Applications for Mount Vema citizenship under relaxed rules 1119-0120 closes today at 4pm, according to a notice issued by the Mount Vema Ministry of Justice. The rules were relaxed in November last year for two months under a policy to grant citizenship to a limited number of people (about 100 people) who do not meet the requirement to become citizens, but who wished to apply to become a Mount Vema national in addition to their existing nationality.
January 14, 2020 - Mount Vema - The Government has published today the Mount Vema District Tax rate to help off-plan buyers (owners of Mount Vema title plans) to better manage their long-term financial plans.
The levy on a property in Mount Vema referred to as ‘District Tax’ is a taxation system where city of Mount Vema districts are assigned bands, based on property average value. The tax is set as a fixed amount for each band. The more valuable the property, the higher the tax, to cover the district expenditure.

Liability for District Tax
The occupiers of a property will be liable, regardless of tenure, or the owners if the property is unoccupied, except if the property is a 'house in multiple occupation', in which case the landlord is liable for paying the District Tax.
January 08, 2020 - Mount Vema - His Mount Vema Majesty's Government plans to start the biggest underwater clean up operation in Mount Vema next month is in need of ship Masters, Chief Mates, Second Mates, Third Mates, Seafarers, Chief Engineers, Assistant Engineers, commercial divers and crew members, to man a fleet of supply and support vessels.
If the right people can be recruited by the end of January, the underwater clean up works will start in February 2020, according to people familiar with the plans.
The vessels and crew will pave the way for the fleet of ships that will be stationed over Vema Seamount and will assist with providing support and supplies to other vessels that will form part of the scientific fleet, the fisheries management fleet and the construction fleet.
The job vacancies are open from today for immediate start for training and travel arrangements. Support staff are also needed including cleaners, housekeepers, chefs, welders, carpenters, and construction Labor (with concrete/cement mixing experience).

December 24, 2019 - The Vema Seamount Authority - His Mount Vema Majesty King, Peter J. Goldishman has delivered his 13th Christmas message as a Sovereign since the creation of the Kingdom in August 2006 to the Mount Vema community overseas.
The Sovereign said in his message that "we as human beings should do better in mastering the art of pacing ourselves, as some things take time. Human beings are becoming accustomed to living like robots. Expecting things done now and on demand which could lead to serious health problems such as depression when things can not be achieved on time, mental health issues and including cancer. The universe, the world we live in and neither the systems created by mankind were built in a day. We must always remember that."
The monarch also mentioned the need to better inform and educate the youth on what a government can do for its people, and what is possible in practice to prevent people demanding action that are not deliverable within a short period of time.
The Sovereign wished Merry Christmas to all and a prosperous New Year, before he retreated to join his wife Trinity for Christmas.
December 17, 2019 - Mount Vema - BraveHouse, The Mount Vema Royal Guards confirmed today that 4% of GDP will be the amount to be spent in security and defense of His Mount Vema Majesty's realm. The new spending limit was first approved in November as part of a plan to boost security and defense spending for the Ministry of Defense and Emergency Response. The fund will be primarily used to pay for the outsourcing of security and defense as part of His Mount Vema Majesty's Government strategic defense and security spending to deter foreign owned ships from violating the fisheries, merchant marine, immigration laws, as well as foreign interference in the internal affairs of the realm.
December 12, 2019 - Mount Vema - The Bank of Mount Vema has signalled today that it will not be rasing interest rate for now. Borrowing costs will remain at 3.45%, the central bank said, following reports that strong economic growth is expected in 2020.
