King Peter offers condolences following death of The Duke of Edinburgh

April 09, 2021 – The Vema Seamount Authority, His Mount Vema Majesty King Peter Goldishman of Mount Vema offered condolences early this afternoon (Friday 9th) over the death of Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh.
 
In a message of sadness sent to the Office of the British Prime Minister for Her British Majesty Queen Elizabeth and Country, Peter Goldishman offered condolences from him and his wife to the United Kingdom of Great Britain, The British Royal Family, and especially Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth over the death of Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh.
 
Prince Philip, who was Queen Elizabeth's husband for more than seven decades and helped to modernise the British monarchy and steer the royal family through repeated crises, died early today. He was 99.
 
The Duke of Edinburgh, as he was officially known, had been by his wife's side throughout her 69-year reign, the longest in British history. During that time he earned a reputation for a tough, and no-nonsense attitude.
 
A Greek prince, Philip married Elizabeth in 1947. He went on to play a key role helping the British monarchy to adapt to a changing world in the post-World War Two period.
