October 21, 2018 – Mount Vema - Prince William, The Duke of Cambridge was invited to visit the Vema Seamount territory in November 2020. The invitation was issued on October the 16th and was posted on Thursday 18th, which is likely to be the last official invitation to be issued this year.
Anyone who knows the evolutionary history of Mount Vema, would expect the Monarchy of The Netherlands and The British Monarchy to be among the first to be invited, and especially the British Monarch - Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, one of the most respected and admired heads of state, but because of security issues no invitation was sent until now.
The Vema Seamount Authority was exploring other means of issuing the official invitation because the British Monarchy can only be officially invited by post. The problem was that Mount Vema stopped sending or accepting postal correspondences more than two years ago.
Most official correspondences from Mount Vema are either electronic using forms available on its official website which are generally encrypted and free from virus, or face-to-face. But because of deadlines, an exception was made and a postal invitation was finally sent.
The reason the Vema Seamount Authority avoids postal correspondences is not only to make Mount Vema environmental-friendly, but more for security reasons, as letters require screening for suspicious items or substances that could be a threat to general security, and therefore can be read by anyone who may not be authorized to read its content and who may not understand the importance of its content.
