Right to legal aid not for everyone

7/7/2022

Not everyone in Mount Vema will have automatic right to legal aid, this is according to a source familiar with a draft proposal to be submitted by the Ministry of Justice to the Office of the Vema Seamount Authority.

The Ministry of Justice is acting in response to a request by the Treasury to review the costs associated with the current policy of legal aid for all within His Mount Vema Majesty’s realm.

The problem the treasury is having with the policy is that as it stands, when people start to arrive with all sorts of problems arising from travelling, employee to employee disputes and then employee to employer disputes and more, these issues could overwhelm the judiciary and generate costs that could spiral out of control. So the Treasury wants to prevent it from becoming a problem someday.
